Essence - Vampire's Love

A minha irmã comprou-me a colecção dos vernizes da Essence Vampire's Love. Ela gostou porque não tem nada a ver com a saga Twilight :P (mas note-se que ela leu os livros e vê os filmes e, inclusive, escreve fanfics da saga). Então ela pediu-me para eu fazer as amostras de cada um dos vernizitos que, por acaso (só por acaso :P) são muito giros e algo complexos.
Esta Edição Limitada da Essence tem 5 vernizes de tonalidades bem diferentes:

Todos têm uma aplicação óptima e uma remoção também sem problemas. Nenhum faz grande bagunça na remoção. Comecemos então pela ordem acima descrita :)

*My sister bought me Essence Vampire's Love collection. She liked the collection because it has nothing to do with the Twilight series :P (but note that she is a dedicate reader of the books and she watches every film and, she is also a Twilight fanfic writer).
So she asked me to make the swatches for these nail polishes that, as a matter of fact are quite cute and complex.
This Limited Edition by Essence has 5 nail polishes of very different shades:
#01 Gold Old Buffy
#02 Into the Dark
#03 True Love
#04 The Dawn is Broken
#05 Hunt me if You Can
They all apply like a dream and the removal is also very good. None of the nail polishes make a big mess when removing. Ok so lets start following the order above :)

#01 Gold Old Buffy - é um verniz de base aquosa preta com micro glitter e pequenos flocos dourados e verdes o que confere ao verniz um tom uniforme verde dourado. Tem um acabamento "glass flecked" ou seja parece que tem pedacinhos muito pequenininhos de vidro e fica perfeitamente opaco com duas camadas. Na foto usei topcoat. - É, na minha opinião, o segundo verniz mais complexo da colecção devido ao seu acabamento e aos seus tons.
*#01 Gold Old Buffy - it's a nail polish with a watery black base with golden and green micro glitter and little flakies which gives this nail polish its golden green tone. It has a glass flecked finish which means it looks like it has very small pieces of shattered glass in it and it's fully opaque with two coats. In the photo I'm using topcoat. - It is, in my opinion, the second most complex nail polish of the collection due to its finish and different tones.

#02 Into the Dark - é um verniz cremoso azul muito escuro tipo azulejo com micro glitter prateado. A sua cor no frasco pode enganar pois aparenta ser mais claro do que é. Tem um acabamento cremoso que, apesar do micro glitter, é bastante brilhante mesmo sem topcoat. É uma das maravilhas da colecção que cobre com uma camada mas eu apliquei duas pela força do hábito. Tem, portanto, uma óptima pigmentação. Na foto utilizei topcoat. - Foi uma óptima surpresa porque a julgar pela cor no frasco eu não o compraria :)
*#02 Into the Dark - it's a very dark blue/teal creme with silver micro glitter. Its colour in the bottle can be deceiving because it actually is a lot darker than it looks like in the bottle. It has a creme finish as I already said that, despite the micro glitter, is very shiny even without topcoat. It's one of the one coat wonders of this collection but I did apply two (habits :P). It has a great pigment. In the photo I used topcoat. - This was the greatest surprise of the collection because judging by the colour in the bottle I wouldn't have bought it :)

#03 True Love - é um verniz roxo escuro com brilhinhos. Tem um acabamento em "shimmer" ou seja os tais brilhinhos que parecem um fino pó adicionado ao verniz, e poderia ser uma das maravilhas de uma camada mas o resultado com uma camada é muito diferente do que se levar duas camadas. Utilizei então duas camadas e, apesar de ser também um verniz que resulta muito brilhante, apliquei topcoat. - É uma tonalidade linda que faz um óptimo par com o nome que tem mas não é novidade nenhuma.
#03 True Love - it's a dark purple shimmer nail polish. Its shimmer finish really makes it look like fine powder has been added to the formula and, this could be a one coat wonder but the colour with only one coat is very different from two coats. So I used two coats and, despite being a very shiny nail polish on its own, I applied topcoat. - It's a beautiful shade that combines very well with its name but it's not really big news.

#04 The Dawn is Broken - é um verniz cremoso cinza claro com glitter azul escuro e micro glitter prateado. É mais uma maravilha que cobre com uma camada mas eu apliquei duas. É o verniz mais granuloso de todos e menos brilhante. Na foto usei topcoat. - É o verniz mais deslocado da colecção pois é o único tom claro, no entanto, acho que está muito bem pois pode associar-se ao nevoeiro (todas as cenas de vampiros têm nevoeiro, certo? :P). Infelizmente, ultimamente o que não falta aí nas últimas colecções é vernizes com este tom por isso, nada de novo aqui também.
*#04 - The Dawn is Broken - it's a light grey creme base with dark blue glitter and silver micro glitter. It's another one coat wonder from the collection but I still applied two. It's the most grainy formula of all and the less shiny. In the photo I used topcoat. - This is the most dislocated nail polish of the collection because it's the only light shade but, it's alright because it can be associated with the fog (all vampire stuff include fog, right? :P). Unfortunatelly this is a very common shade in the latest collections so, nothing new here either.

#05 Hunt me if You Can - é um verniz cremoso preto com micro glitter e pequenos flocos prateados que reflectem outras cores muito pálidas. Quase que fica opaco com uma camada mas a segunda camada é mesmo necessária para uniformizar completamente a cor. Tem um acabamento "shimmer"/"glass flecked", uma mistura destes dois pois é muito difícil de decifrar. Na foto usei topcoat. - Este é o verniz mais complexo da colecção pois é extremamente difícil de descrever se olharmos para ele com atenção. Eu consegui compará-lo a montes de outros vernizes apenas para reparar que afinal não se parece com nenhum deles. Os diferentes reflexos que se captam nos diferentes ângulos são os responsáveis por esta complexidade. Talvez o possa comparar ao Dirty Berry da Catrice em termos de complexidade de cor e reflexos.
*#05 Hunt me if You Can - it's a black creme nail polish with silver micro glitter and little flakies that reflect other very pale colours. It's almost opaque with one coat but a second one is really necessary to even out the colour. It has a shimmer/glass flecked finish, a mix between these two because this one is very hard to describe. In the photo I used topcoat. - This is the most complex nail polish of the collection because it is really hard to describe when we look at it closely and with a lot of attention. I could compare it to some other nail polishes I've seen or have only to find out that after all this one has nothing to do with any polish I've seen. The different reflexes that can only be captured in some angles are responsable for this complexity.
I probably can only compare it to Catrice's Dirty Berry when it comes to complexity of colours and reflections.

Conseguem notar alguns daqueles tons pálidos que referi? :) *Can you notice some of those pale tones I mentioned? :)

Não costumo fazer amostras de colecções mas é justo visto que a minha irmã me pediu e ela é que me comprou os vernizes :P espero que tenha ajudado a quebrar algumas dúvidas.
*I don't usually make swatches for collections but this one is fair since my sister asked me to do it and she was the one who bought me the nail polishes :P I hope this helps some of you.

Risqué Penélope Charmosa - Pink Vigarista

Ah! Como já me tinha esquecido de quão brilhantes são os vernizes da Risqué (fora os matte, é claro :P).
A minha irmã decidiu comprar o Pink Vigarista da colecção Penélope Charmosa da Risqué, e eu, assim que terminei o desafio, aproveitei para dar um arranjo nas minhas unhas e pintá-las com este miminho. Só estava um pouco receosa pois os dois vernizes que tenho da colecção desiludiram-me muito. Mas pus isso atrás das costas ;)
Adiante, durante o desafio a minha unha do dedo do meio da mão esquerda rachou e tive de aguentá-la para não quebrar completamente até ao fim do desafio e quando o terminei, cortei as unhas... bastante!
Que desculpa melhor para usar um verniz de tom avermelhado! (Gosto de ver vernizes pretos, muito escuros ou vermelhos especialmente em unhas curtas.)
Este verniz tem uma aplicação meio manhosa na primeira camada mas na segunda camada, para além de ficar completamente opaco, a aplicação torna-se bastante mais fácil. É um verniz extremamente brilhante que fica óptimo sem topcoat, mas o topcoat ajuda o verniz a resistir por isso apliquei uma camada de topcoat. Este verniz tem um acabamento meio gelatina meio creme e por isso é que resulta muito brilhante.
Tenho apenas duas observações a fazer: tal como outros vernizes da Risqué com o mesmo acabamento, este verniz parece que escorre da ponta da unha para o centro deixando a beira da unha com pouco verniz, parecendo que já está a ficar gasto; outro ponto fraco que é comum a todos os vernizes da Risqué é o facto de começar a lascar muito depressa, mesmo com topcoat.
No fundo é um óptimo verniz, com uma cor muito sumarenta, que me esqueci de adquirir no Verão :P

My sister decided to buy Pink Vigarista from the collection Penélope Charmosa by Risqué, and I, as soon as the 31 days challenge was over, jumped on to give my nails a quick fix and also try this baby. I was just a bit fearful to use it because the other two nail polishes I have from this collection were complete loosers to me. But I put that behind my back ;)
Anyways, during the challenge my left hand middle finger nail cracked and I had to keep it steady to not break completely until the end of the challenge and when this was over I cut my nails... a lot!
And what a better excuse to paint my nails with a reddish shade! (I like to see blacks, very dark nail polishes or reds specially on short nails.)
This nail polish is a bit tricky during the first application but with the second coat, besides getting fully opaque, it also becomes a lot easier to apply. This is an extremelly glossy nail polish that works just fine with no topcoat but the topcoat helps it to last longer so I applied one coat of topcoat. This nail polish has a half jelly half creme finish and that's why it is so shiny.
I only have two things to point out: just like other Risqué nail polishes with the same finish, this formula has a tendency to "slide" from the tip of the nail to the center, leaving the tip with no polish making it look like it has been worn for days; another weak point commun to all Risqué nail polishes is the fact that it chips easily even with topcoat.
But in the end it is a great nail polish, with a juicy colour, that I just forgot to buy this Summer :P

Desafio dos 31 dias - DIA 31 *31 days Challenge - DAY 31

Cheguei ao último dia deste desafio. Adorei participar nele. Descobri coisas novas das quais gosto e outras que detesto. Descobri até que algumas manicures me deixam indiferente... enfim, uma experiência rica nesta área :P
Ora a manicure do último dia era recriar a manicure que mais gostámos. E a minha preferida foi a manicure em degradé do dia 10.
Recriei-a noutras cores. vernizes utilizados por ordem de degradé:
Essence Colour&Go #53 You Belong to Me (cor base, duas camadas);
China Glaze For Audrey (para esponjar);
Paint and Peel Azure (para esponjar);
Essence Nail Art Twins #06 Bella (para esponjar);
Sinful Colors #220 Green Ocean (camada de flocos para cobrir a manicure toda).
Terminei com topcoat.
Confesso que, por tê-la feito na noite de Halloween, não saiu tão bem como a primeira. Mas foi a que mais gostei e esta foi a recriação. Espero que gostem!

*I have finally reached the end of this challenge. I really liked taking part of it. I discovered some things I love and some things I hate and I also found out that some manicures can really make me indifferent... anyways... it was a rich experience in the area :P
So this last day of the challenge we had to recreate our favourite manicure of the challenge. Mine was manicure from day 10, gradient nails.
I recreated it in different colours. Nail polishes I used by order:
Essence Colour&Go #53 You Belong to Me (base colour, two coats);
China Glaze For Audrey (to sponge);
Paint and Peel Azure (to sponge);
Essence Nail Art Twins #06 Bella (to sponge);
Sinful Colors #220 Green Ocean (a flakie coat to cover the whole manicure).
I finished this with topcoat.
I must confess that this was made on Halloween night as so it didn't turn out as good as the first one, but it was my favourite and it is a recreation so, I hope you like it anyways!

Desafio dos 31 dias - DIA 30 *31 days Challenge - DAY 30

Dia 30: Manicure inspirada num tutorial.
Esta é possivelmente a minha segunda manicure preferida deste desafio. Não a vou recriar porque é ridículo visto tê-la feito hoje e recriá-la amanha... se bem que podia usar cores diferentes e outro fruto..... bem, estou a divagar... já sei qual é a minha recriação de qualquer modo ;)
Para esta manicure usei os seguintes vernizes:
- OPI mini colecção de Halloween I Love Mummy (para a francesa, duas camadas);
- Le Petit Cliché Colinho (para as riscas);
- MIYO #18 Cocktail (para as pintinhas na francesa e no morango);
- Le Petit Cliché Sorte (para o morango);
- Claire's verde (para o pé do morango).
Terminei com topcoat.
Devo dizer que foi a segunda manicure que mais gozo me deu fazer. Adorei o resultado e agradeço à Mimimemeko por ter feito este tutorial tão fixe com uma manicure tão kawaiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ^___^

*Day 30: Manicure inspired by a tutorial.
This is probably my second favourite manicure of this challenge. I would recreate it but it's just ridiculous since I've done it today and I would have to to it again tomorrow... although I could actually use different colours and fruits.... ok I'm just drifting away... anyways I already have my recreation planned ;)
For this manicure I used the following nail polishes:
- OPI Halloween mini collection I Love Mummy (for the french, two coats);
- Le Petit Cliché Colinho (for the stripes);
- MIYO #18 Cocktail (for the dots on the french and strawberry);
- Le Petit Cliché Sorte (for the strawberry);
- Claire's green (for the base of the strawberry).
I finished with topcoat.
I really must say this was the second manicure of this challenge that I liked to do the most. I love how it came out and I have to thank to Mimimemeko for having done this great tutorial with such a kawaiiiiiiiiiii manicure ^___^

Desafio dos 31 dias - DIA 29 *31 days Challenge - DAY 29

A minha irmã emprestada (leia-se vizinha do lado) foi aos E.U.A. e trouxe-me de lá umas coisinhas geniais que me animaram mais a época de Halloween. Vejam só as beldades que ela me arranjou.
*My borrowed sister (read next door neighbour) went to the U.S.A. and brought me a couple of lovelies that cheered my Halloween season a bit more. Check out the beauties she got me.

É claro que não pude deixar de os utilizar neste dia do desafio.
Manicure inspirada pelo sobrenatural.
Tenho um vasto "conhecimento" nesta área pois sempre foi uma grande curiosidade da minha pessoa (lembro-me de há dez anos atrás ir de propósito à biblioteca da minha terrinha alugar livros sobre o tema :P e confesso que ainda hoje é das coisas que mais pesquiso no Youtube... vergonha! XD) mas que raio poria eu numa manicure? Já utilizei extraterrestres na manicure inspirada por uma música e já utilizei galáxias e planetas também. Poderia fazer fantasminhas mas para ser sincera só me lembrei disso agora mesmo -_- enfim... fiz uma manicure inspirada por algo do assunto que marcou a minha infância e pré-adolescência.
Vernizes utilizados:
- Frasco R.I.P. Fantasy Makers #12420 Poção Violeta (cor base, duas camadas);
- Essence Colour&Go #56 Got a Secret (para as letras).

Manicure inspired by the supernatural.
I have a large "knowledge" in the subject because it has always been a big curiosity of my person (I remember going to the library on purpose just to read books about it :P and I must confess it still is one of the subjects I search the most on Youtube... shame on me! XD) but what the hell would I put on a manicure? I have already used extraterrestrials, planets and galaxies on previous manicures for the challenge. Ok I could have done some ghosts but I honestly admit I only remembered that now -_- anyways... I made something around the subject that marked my childhood and pre-teenage.
Nails polishes I used:
- R.I.P. bottle Fantasy Makers #12420 Purple Potion (base colour, two coats);
- Essence Colour&Go #56 Got a Secret (for the letters).
I finished with topcoat.
Simple but simbolic :P
