... por esta hora estava a entrar nas urgências do Montijo onde fiquei até às 5 e tal da manhã. Uns grandes amigos levaram-me até lá (desculpem lá ter estragado a noite :( ) porque pensei seriamente que estava a ter um ataque cardíaco, afinal não passou de um ataque de ansiedade. Lê-se tanta coisa por aí que, quando comecei a ficar com os membros dormentes e as mãos a enrolarem-se em posições estranhas, não consegui evitar pensar que estava mesmo a ter um ataque cardíaco. E foi legítimo pensar tal coisa pois os sintomas são muito parecidos e só um médico com experiência consegue fazer esse diagnóstico assim que começa a ouvir as queixas. Costumo ter estes ataques mas só duram cerca de 10 minutos. Outra grande amiga ensinou-me um truque com um copo de água: dar goles de água e contar até 10 calmamente. Sempre funcionou.... até ontem. Ontem quando pensei que tinha controlado a cena voltou a atacar com mais força e foi aí que comecei a ficar com os braços dormentes e entrei em pânico a valer.
Sintomas que tive:
Taquicardia súbita (ou seja o batimento do meu coração, do nada, disparou);
Dificuldade em respirar;
Suores frios;
Dormência nos braços e mãos (começou no braço esquerdo, daí a minha preocupação);
Perda de força nas pernas;
Sensação de que ía desmaiar a qualquer altura;
Já nas urgências comecei a tremer descontroladamente.
Preciso de aprender mais para além da técnica do copo de água e contar até dez porque, pelo tratamento que me fizeram nas urgências (deram-me um género de Valium, fizeram-me um electrocardiograma e fizeram-me análises), também podia ter sido resolvido em casa (só que não estava em casa, isto nunca me tinha acontecido e pensei seriamente que era um ataque cardíaco!).
Hoje acordei extremamente cansada (pelos vistos é normal) e com receio de que volte a acontecer, o que não é bom porque pode levar a outra crise destas e eu, para além de não querer empatar as urgências com algo que não é crítico, não quero voltar a sentir aquilo!
Obrigado ao meu namorado que esteve sempre comigo apesar de estar cansadíssimo, à minha mãe e irmã (fi-las levantarem-se a estas horas para iram ter às urgências :( ), aos meus amigos que me levaram às urgências e a quem acabei por estragar o final da noite (que era suposto ser divertida), à minha amiga que me ensinou o truque do copo de água e aos meus amigos que já me viram passar por isto e interromperam o que estavam a fazer para se certificarem de que eu estava bem.
Alguém sabe mais algum truque para além do copo de água?
*... around this time I was entering the E.R. where I stood until 5 something a.m. A couple of big friends of mine took me there (sorry for messing up the night :( ) 'cause I seriously thought I was having an heart attack, but after all it was an anxiety attack. We read so many stuff about it that, when my arms begun to get numb and my hands were curling in funny positions, I couldn't help but think it was indeed an heart attack. And it was legitim to think like this 'cause the symptoms are very similar to those of an heart attack and only an experienced doctor can diagnose what is happening to us as soon as he starts to hear the complaints. I am used to have these attacks but they usually don't go longer that 10 minutes. Another great friend taught me this trick with a glass of water: drink a bit a count to 10 calmly and it has been working... until yesterday. Yesterday, when I thought I had the situation under control, my arms begun to numb and then I seriously panicked
Symptoms I had:
Sudden tachycardia (which means my heart rythm went from 10 to 100 just like that);
Breathing difficulty;
Cold sweats;
Arms and hands numbness (it started on my left arm and that's where all my preocupation came from);
Loss of strength on my legs;
Fainting sensation;
And when I was already in the E.R. I begun to shake uncontrollably.
I need to learn more than the glass of water and counting to ten technique because, having in mind the treatment I was given in the E.R. (I was given something similar to Valium, I had blood analysis and an electrocardiogram), it could have been treated at home (it's just that I wasn't at home, it was the first time this was happening to me and I seriously thought it was an heart attack!).
Today I woke up really tired (which apparently is normal) and fearing it may happen again which is bad 'cause it can actually lead to another crisis like that and, besides not liking to interfer the E.R. with something that is not that critical, I really don't want to feel like that again!
So I just want to thank to my boyfriend who stood there with me despite being terribly tired, my mother and my sister (I woke them up and made them rush to the E.R. at this time :( ), to my friends to took me to the E.R. and to whom I ruined the night (which was supposed to be fun), to my friend who taught me the glass of water trick and to my friends who already saw me go through this sort of crisis and left what they were doing to make sure I was alright.
Does anyone know more than the glass of water trick?
